Make sure you stay hydrated. Eat your prenatal vitamin which contains folic acid and DHA (Can buy it from Target, Nature Made brand, with DHA, that's what I have), schedule your first appointment with doctor in Taiwan. Avoid soft cheeses, unpasteurized cheese, and juice. Stay away from raw food (like sushi, sashimi), stay away from alcohol, second hand smoke/smoking. It's OK to have less than 200mg of caffeine a day, but it's preferred that you limit your caffeine intake (including soda). Drink broth or eat crackers if you are nauseous, nibble on some white bread can help too. I would avoid high-mercury content seafood (like swordfish), have 12oz salmon once a week is OK, shrimp is OK. Only eat fully well done beef (no medium rare steak for example). Avoid uncooked vegetables like salad (lettuce for all kinds), avoid uncooked bean sprouts (豆芽) Also, make sure to ask the doctor if you can continue to take your daily medication if you are on any.
